Right! A really ill-advised bonding thing. They got loaded one night and stumbled into a tattoo parlor. [Sounding drunk.] “You’re my best friend!” [Laughs.] I love it.
Oh, yeah…we’re sure there are people with ink tributes to Eric. Definitely.
So last Sunday, many of us from Fifteen Minutes attended the annual Trevor Live benefit. This year was like no other. Jane Lynch presented Kathy Griffin with the Trevor Life award … and both those women were funny! Levi Strauss received the Trevor Hope award, with a really emotional speech from one of their top executives.
Celebrities such as Anna Kendrick, Emma Stone, Joe Manganiello, Kristin Bauer, Ian Somerhalder, Chris Colfer, Jessica Alba, Rashida Jones, Cat Cora and many many more attended.
Sarah Silverman performed a definitely NSFW set. And she had the room laughing until we hurt. While Amy Poehler helped get the audience to give give give by co-wrangling for the live auction.
Then came the musical performances. OH MY! (Disclaimer: we caught all of this video with our blackberry, so we did the best we could; and we think it came out blackberry worthy…but not at an iPhone level!)
Glee’s Darren Criss performed. It was beautiful. Check it out here and here. Then he did his rendition of “Teenage Dream” and yes, Katy Perry - a surprise guest - joined him.
There were two amazing “Rent” performances. “Seasons of Love” might be our favorite. “Will I” was just gorgeous too.
James Marsden performed. He really can sing! And he dueted with Neil Patrick Harris. It was so cute.
Speaking of duets. Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel sang together before Idina belted out “Defying Gravity” from “Wicked.”
The grand finale…Queen Latifah. She closed the place down. So beautiful.
In the midst of all this mind-blowing entertainment, we learned that it only takes $15 for The Trevor Project to save a life. Think about that. They are saving lives.
